Helping others
THE Form Four students of Sri Dasmesh School in Kuala Lumpur played host to 42 teenagers from two welfare homes recently.
The “Raise Your Spirits” workshop was attended by teenagers, all aged between 13 and 17, from the Pure Life Society and the Gurpuri Home.
The event kicked off with a team-building activity called Puzzle Maze.
This was followed by interactive workshops led by a panel of speakers, including N. J. Singam from Napoleon Hill Associates, Anant Kasibathla, and In-Control Tech’s chief executive officer Harvinder Singh.
The topics discussed included Law of Attraction, Memory Skills, and Goal Setting. Real-life situations were shared and students took part in the discussions.
After a meal of pizza and snacks, the activities continued with futsal and netball.
Dalip Singh and M. Kaveena, the workshop co-ordinators, spoke about their objectives in organising the event.
“We had, over the years, attended many workshops and wanted to give something back to those who may not have had the opportunities to review their lifestyles and change them.
“This workshop is a platform for students to rediscover their purpose in life,” said Dalip Singh.
Kaveena was philosophical when she said: “Service is actually the rent we pay to occupy our space here on Earth.
“We are so busy with our own lives that we seldom think of others,” she said.
The workshop ended with the students exchanging e-mail addresses.
